At one time almost all of Europe was forested. In Britain it is estimated that as much as 75% of the land was once covered by forest, today it is less then 12%. By the end of 2008 half of the worlds 6.7 billion people will live in urban areas. This project deals with the idea that we remove our natural approach towards woodland and see it as an abstract part of nature, hence I wanted to use artificial light and backgrounds to document the forest where I grew up, I decided to use a 5x4 field camera just to make the work process slower and more observant.
